Steven, we’re going to order a new template and several extensions this week to create a membership directory on a new site for our association – and, I wanted to describe what we’re planning to do first, to see if you can think of any ways we might screw this up! :)

We want to set up a member directory on a site that’s password protected using membership site software (WishList Member, in fact). So, this site – DWHSAMembers.com – already has all of our members loaded into the site as WP users.

So, our plan is to buy Excerpt Plus as the template, plus Form and Widget Pack for their features. But, my questions are about CSV Import and Link:

If this site (DWHSAMembers.com) already has our members loaded into it as WP users, and I set up a directory page with Excerpt Plus and then use CSV Import to import our members’ data for the directory pages, and then install and activate Link on the site so that the members can update their directory pages themselves when they log into the site … will the fact that they’re ALREADY WP users within the site (due to our use of the WishList Member software) cause any unintended consequences?

I hope that question makes sense! Thanks .. I know there’s no tip jar to leave you $$$ for support answers, but at the least we’ll be buying a new template and extensions, ha …

Sounds like that should work just fine. They only thing I can think of is that’ll you’ll need to make sure that the role of your WishList members have the either the add/edit or add/edit moderated capbilites on the Connections : Roles admin page.
