GuestIs there a way to show the alphaindex horizontally instead of vertically. When I inspect the page source, it includes
et al so I don’t know that CSS could fix that, wondering if there are shortCodes or other options. If not, can someone point me to what code creates the list? Maybe I can figure a good way to flatten it after I research how to drop my code in where it will get picked up in front of the existing code. Thanks,08/12/2018 at 12:47 pm #469859Steven Zahm

The alphaindex should display horizontal by default. If it is not, then it is likely the theme causing it to display vertical by globally settings HTML span tags to display as blocks instead of inline.
This can be easily corrected with CSS. I can give you this, but you’ll need to share the link to the page with the issue so I can see it and create the correct CSS for you.

GuestHey, I can provide that but … as I inspect the html there is a br directive (line break) between each entry. If I can try to paste it here w/out getting it interpreted … it looks like this … note the line break between each one. Sorry for the poor formatting … but I’m thinking the line break may be challenging to CSS around. Thanks.
div class=”cn-alphaindex”>
a class=”cn-char” title=”A” href=”http://www.eichapel.org/pictoraldirectory/char/A/”>A
a class=”cn-char” title=”G” href=”http://www.eichapel.org/pictoraldirectory/char/G/”>G
…
</div>PS. Looks like we are going to use lots of functionality around this plugin … so within a few business days … we will be a paying customer.

GuestUnfortunately, the
were interpreted in spite of my trying to hide it. Anyway, the html itself includes the line break.08/13/2018 at 10:16 am #469904Steven Zahm

If there are line breaks in the code, they are not being put them by Connections. This is definitely being caused by another plugin or more likely the theme.
You can try applying a compatibility fix… navigate to the Connections Settings admin page and click the Advanced tab. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the Compatibility section and enable the Template option.

Hope this helps, let me know.

ParticipantSorry for the delay (long unimportant story) … I tried the setting you suggested and now it is showing horizontally which is perfect. Got the purchase of the pro-pack done as well (have not played w/new extensions yet, but folks are asking for function that I think this plugin will do well) and am anxious to show some neat presentations to the whole church soon (drum up excitement about our upcoming pictorial directory). Thanks much.
