I would like the ability for directory members to add address and phone details marked as private, but to restrict the viewing of other people’s private details. Only admins should be able to see all.
The problem is that if you give subscribers the ability to view private, which they need to add a private item, then all subscribers can see the private entries of others. But, if you remove the ability to view private, then they cannot add a private item.
Is there any way around this problem?
Using Form, sorry, no. not at this time. However, if the user selects the “Edit My Directory Entry” from the user profile dropdown menu in the upper right of the admin bar, the user can choose to set their entry private or unlisted.
Hope this helps!
