ParticipantDear Steven,
Question 1:
ABC INDUSTRY(Title)
California (State)15, example street
postcode, CA
USAHow do I use the getAddressBlock function to display the preferred state and address?
Question 2:
When inputting Address, there is a dropdown list for “Home”, “Work”, “School” and “Other”. How can I make a custom textfield for Other?
I am asking this because I have 4 addresses that shows “Work” in the address, which looks kind of ugly. So I would like them to display company names instead.
For eg.
ABC INDUSTRY (CA)
AddressABC INDUSTRY (TX)
AddressABC INDUSTRY (NY)
AddressABC INDUSTRY (WA)

The
<a href="https://github.com/shazahm1/Connections/blob/0.7.9.1/includes/class.output.php" target="_blank">class.output.php</a>file has extensive phpDoc for most of the methods including<a href="https://github.com/shazahm1/Connections/blob/0.7.9.1/includes/class.output.php#L821" target="_blank">getAddressBlock()</a>I suggest review this file and docs…
Here’s and example to output only the preferred address:
$entry->getAddressBlock( array( 'preferred' => TRUE ) );You can not make a custom field in place of the “other” address type. That is just an option for the for the address type and that field can not be changed easily and I have no idea what would break if you did. Since the address supports 3 lines; what not just use Line 1 as the company name?
