ParticipantHi Steve,
I’ve successfully created a new custom field with the snippets editor and I see the new custom field when adding/editing an entry.
However, I’m not clear on how to add the new field to the cMap template; I’m wanting to add the new field to the card and full profile views (see screen pics).
Page with one of the directories:
https://theaumnation.com/wellness-services/?cn-country=United%2BStatesThanks in advance.
Cheers,

Follow this link and scroll up until you see the paragraph that starts with “Before moving on, you should go and read how…”
https://connections-pro.com/2015/06/23/quicktip-custom-field-adding-a-text-field/#Export_the_Field
You need to add that little snippet of code that follows that paragraph in the
card.php
andcard-single.php
files where you want it to be displayed.Hope that helps!

ParticipantThanks Steve for pointing me in the right direction.
For this: “The first thing you need to know is the template slug of the template your are going to tweak. You can find the template slug on the Connections : Templates admin page. The template slug will be shown in the Template Override section of the template description. See the screen capture below. The template slug for cMap would be “cmap”, without the quotes”
I’m not sure which templates I need to modify (for the card view and full page profiles), as there are a handful (see attached screen pic).
Please advise.
Thanks in advance,

What path are you putting the files in? Also, the (1) in each file name is not correct. They will not be recognized as valid template files in Connections.

ParticipantHi Steve,
File path:
public_html/theaumnation.com/wp-content/connections-templates/cmap
The file names don’t have the (1) on them, there were copies I downloaded, see screen capture.
Thanks,

Ok, one step back… does the custom text field display when you add a new entry or edit an existing one?

ParticipantYes, here is a screen capture:

Ok, have you made sure the custom template files are being used? I do this by adding some simple static HTML that I can see immediately on the page. Something like
<p>LOADED</p>

ParticipantI’ll give that a go :)
