ParticipantSteven,
As you know I continue to “experiment” with all of your amazing plugins (< read that as “I’m still trying to decide which one I like best”). Right now I am trying to figure out a way to add mapping to Slim Plus.
I have tried to include a Google map as one of the links for the Contact but that doesn’t work. I have also tried adding code to the Bio and/or Notes sections… no luck.
I have decided that if Slim Plus had mapping capability it would work PERFECTLY for what I want to do. So, any plans to add that feature?
Alternatively, if you could manage to add the “shrink” feature (like Slim Plus) to either cMap or Market that would work as well!
I LOVE Connections!

You could open the
card.phpthat belongs to Slim Plus and add the following to it where you want the map to be displayed:$entry->getMapBlock();This function takes many options which are documented in the
class.output.phpin the Connections plugin folder.Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

ParticipantSteven,
Added the code you provided but nothing changed. Then I noticed that above the code it says: Editing slim-plus/card.php (inactive) so I am assuming that this file is (for whatever reason) inactive.
How do I activate it?

ParticipantNever mind… when I did a new installation it defaulted back to a different format.

The activate/inactive status in the plugin editor does not matter when editing one of the asset files for a plugin. It only means anything when editing the main plugin file, the one with the plugin header text which will be loaded by default when selecting a plugin to edit.
I do have to apologize, when I gave my instructions I was not thinking about all the necessary javascript the needs to be written to init and draw the map using the Google Maps API. The command I gave just outputs the empty container for the Google Maps API to populate, nothing else. Sorry.
You might be way better off using one of the many plugins out there that can display a map using a shortcode. Both the bio and notes fields do support shortcodes. I should have suggested that initially, sorry. One disclaimer, I’ve never tested using another plugin’s shortcode that outputs a map in the notes or bio field… in theory should work fine.

ParticipantSteven,
It’s the idiot again.
I tried inserting the code you gave me ( $entry->getMapBlock(); ) everywhere in the card.php file and had no success whatsoever.
I see that the MapBlock is defined in the Connections files, but do I still need to define it within the card.php code?
HELP!

ParticipantPlease, please have a simple Show Map option for Slim Plus when displaying the detailed view.
I have tried WP Google Maps plugin and the shortcode when added e.g. to the Notes filed does not display the map well.05/29/2014 at 5:42 pm #292496Erez Baron
