    I’d like to add a menu item under the Connections Admin menu that takes the user directly to the Manage page already filtered by Individuals. My attempts at adding some code in the class.menu.php file almost work, but I end up with inconsistent CSS problems on the Manage page and a small subset of fields in the Edit Entry page. Can you help steer me in the right direction for how to accomplish this?

    So, I took a look at this… presently there is really no easy way to accomplish this. The entry filter is saved as a per user setting… so, it persistent and not based on a query string param. Sorry.

    Does this mean adding custom code (that isn’t update friendly) into the menu function of the cnAdminMenu class is the approach to adding Connections menu items?

    No, even with editing the code there is not an easy way to do this. The entry type filter is saved as WP user meta in the database. It is saved to the database during a form submit sending POST data. The change to the admin menu code should be easy but there will need to be changes to the manage admin page code. Exactly what that would entail … honestly I do not know. At the very least the list filtering would have to be changed from using the WP user meta to use a query string GET request value.
