ParticipantHi, I have a business directory and I also write articles about locals shops in our village.
In each of the articles I write I would like to be able to show a single directory entry below the article, so for example I may wish to list a particular fish and chip shop into the article I write (I use cMap)
or in othe instances, I may wish to list all the available fish and chip shops in our village, and list them in a post.
Please show me how to insert one or more directory entries in post
kind regards

I suggest taking a look at the docs for the id shortcode option and the category shortcode option using these you can choose to display specific entries or specific categories.
Hope that helps!

GuestThank you, this is was I wanted, however the listing appears badly formatted / css. I wonder if you could please look at the post?
http://www.glasshousecountry.com/meet-the-farmer-les-and-marji-from-sandy-creek-organic-farm/
I was also wondering if it possible to view it in expanded mode? i.e with either the BIO and the MAP expanded?
I used [connections id='14'] to get this result.
Thank you

re: the listing appears badly formatted
It appears you may have copy/pasted the code from the web page and pasted it into the WordPress Visual editor. When this is done, the underlying HTML is also being pasted. This is not a Connections issue. It is just how the WP Visual editor works. You can copy/paste but this alway, as a best practice, be pasted into the Text tab of the editor. Pasted it in the Text tab will ensure the HTML is not pasted.
How to fix… edit the page where you inserted the shortcode, switch the editor to the Text tab. Now remove any HTML from in and around the shortcode, especially the
code
andpre
tags. Save the page. The formatting should not be correct.re: I was also wondering if it possible to view it in expanded mode? i.e with either the BIO and the MAP expanded?
Sorry, this is not possible. A suggestion… use a different template for these. For example the Default card like so:
[connections template='card' id='14']
Hope that helps!

ParticipantThank you :) This works wonderfully with both
[connections template=’card’ id=’14’
and
[connections template=’cmap’ id=’14’
Because prefer the cmap style is there anyway I can avoid the Select Category ‘pulldown’ at the top o the listing?

re: is there anyway I can avoid the Select Category ‘pulldown’ at the top o the listing?
Go to the Connections : Template admin page and click the Customize button for the cMap template. The page will load with the Customizer on the left and the preview on the right. Navigate to the Category Select panel, disable the Enable Category Filter option and click the Save and Publish button.
Hope that helps!
