Please open a new support topic in the WordPress support forums for Connections.
Navigate to the WordPress Permalinks settings admin page. Remove
index.php from your permalink structure. This will make the permalinks structure compatible with Connections and improve the SEO of those links.

Excellent advice. I changed it to “Post Name” and everything works OK now. Many thanks for a speedy reply and solution.
