would be awesome to give users the OPTION of “use my logo” or “grab a screenshot”…
OR.. display the logo/image WHILE the screenshots are loading… as i’m noticing that the screenshots take a long time to load… (tho it could just be my end)
the image=siteshot shortcode wipes out the image if it’s selected… so an OPTION would be great… as some users won’t HAVE websites to get a screenshot from

The actual thumbnail creation is be done by a third party service. There really is no way for me to query if a thumbnail is ready or not. The service is actually even serving the spinner temp image.
Which template are you using? If it has the image_fallback shortcode option, you could use image_fallback=siteshot instead. That way if you have a logo/image it’ll be used first and if there is not one, then SiteShot will be used if there is a website entered for the entry.
THAT was the PERFECT solution, i think! looks great so far anyway. THANK YOU! it removed the “no logo/image” placeholder too, which makes me very happy :) so now, they have nothing if they entered no image nor website, and the others work great.
Any idea how often the screenshots get updated? and if there’s a way to force them to update?
