Participantwould be awesome to give users the OPTION of “use my logo” or “grab a screenshot”…
OR.. display the logo/image WHILE the screenshots are loading… as i’m noticing that the screenshots take a long time to load… (tho it could just be my end)the image=siteshot shortcode wipes out the image if it’s selected… so an OPTION would be great… as some users won’t HAVE websites to get a screenshot from
(i’d have asked this under Extensions forum, but there is no topic for siteshot yet!)

The actual thumbnail creation is be done by a third party service. There really is no way for me to query if a thumbnail is ready or not. The service is actually even serving the spinner temp image.
Which template are you using? If it has the
image_fallbackshortcode option, you could useimage_fallback=siteshotinstead. That way if you have a logo/image it’ll be used first and if there is not one, then SiteShot will be used if there is a website entered for the entry.Hope that helps!

ParticipantTHAT was the PERFECT solution, i think! looks great so far anyway. THANK YOU! it removed the “no logo/image” placeholder too, which makes me very happy :) so now, they have nothing if they entered no image nor website, and the others work great.
Any idea how often the screenshots get updated? and if there’s a way to force them to update?

Participantoh – or what about being able to pull in the user’s avatar from their regular profile?

The images are refreshed about once every 24hrs.
Do you mean the entry’s gravatar if they have an email address and if that email address has a registered gravatar?

Participantyes… realized i meant gravatar right after i hit “submit” :)
