ParticipantHello Steven,
In Connections on my web page http://www.gezondlope.mijnwebserver.nl/winkels/ I have two main categories. I have added entries that are placed in one of those two categories or in both. On the website I want to make two lists:
- List with all entries in category A
- List with all entries in category B
I have tried to use the shortcode [exclude_category] to both listings, but in that case all entries that are in both categories are also excluded from the list.
When using the shortcode [category_in] the listing results are ok. In the filter option on the left side of the screen displays both categories to filter, but that is exactly what I don’t want. When excluding Category B I don’t want to display this category as a choice.
Is there a shortcode to do so?
Best regards,

What is the exact shortcode you are using? Which categories, by ID should be displayed as options?

ParticipantI am using the following shortcode: [connections category='3' show_empty_categories=TRUE show_category_count=TRUE enable_category_by_root_parent=false] It is showing everything within category number 3, but at the filter option on the left side the category Deelnemende winkels Schoenenplein (= main category ID 15) is also being displayed, and that is what I don’t want.
I guess the ‘problem’ is that some entries are in both categories and therefore this category is also being displayed in filter option.

Well, the shortcode you have is very close, try this:
[connections category='3' show_empty_categories=TRUE show_category_count=TRUE enable_category_by_root_parent=true]This will permit only cat ID 3 and its children to display as options.
Hope that helps!
