OK – So I am not sure if you are familiar but I have the two directories split. Associate Members and Members. The http://%entry_view_url% works on Members but will not work on associate members. Not sure if this has to do with the exclude short code or the split the directory.
%entry_view_url% URL slug only works in an WordPress Menu as a Custom Link. The
exlude_category or splitting the directory across two pages will not have an effect on whether or not the link is created.
So, if you are not getting a real and valid link, then there is another issue. Please review the setup against the doc links I shared in my last reply.
Also, perhaps you could explain in more detail on what you mean by does not work? With more details I might be able to give you an exact working solution.
