ParticipantSetting pagination to false ignores page limit setting? (using cMap template)
[connections enable_pagination='false' page_limit=1 order_by='date_added|SORT_DESC' enable_search='false' enable_category_select='false']
I want to have only the newest added listing to show on my home page, the above short-code should do it however it seems when I disable pagination all listings show. When my directory starts getting large (hundreds of listings), I don’t want hundreds of single entry pages.
Is this a bug and is there a workaround for this?

Yes, disabling pagination completely removes all pagination setting so all entry would be displayed with this shortcode. Now, you can make use of an undocumented option (but fully supported). The option is limit. So change your shortcode to this instead:
[connections enable_pagination='false' limit=1 order_by='date_added|SORT_DESC' enable_search='false' enable_category_select='false']That should yield the results you want. Hope that helps!

ParticipantThank you for your time in responding to my question, that short-code did work for what I was doing.
I did notice that after the single listed item there is quite some space between the listed item and the following paragraph that I can’t seem to get rid of. It is not a major problem, however if you have some thoughts on this it would be appreciated.
Also if possible (if you already have not done so) it would be very helpful if there was a glossary page on your site of ALL the short codes possible with your product. I find myself bouncing all over your site looking-up short codes that I would use to produce the desired listing format for my pages.

The white space is very likely a theme CSS setting, without out being able to see the site, I can’t give any definitive solution. Sorry. If you can share a link, I’ll take a look.
Shortcode option, yes, there are a lot of them. They’re my solution to providing a clean easy to use interface without intimidating settings pages and allows power users to tweak without have to change the underlying code. Each template has its own set of option it supports as well as the core options. So for cMap specific shortcode options, you would go to this page. And for a list of core shortcode options supported by all tempaltes, you would go to this page
Hope that helps!
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference. Many thanks in advance!

Ok, that extra space is actually on purpose. I forgot about it until I started reviewing it on your site. The min-height is set to 300px. This is required for the category drop down. Many theme’s would cut it off if the space between it and the bottom of the theme’s posts content wasn’t at least 300px. Nearly no one in typical usage would run across this. I see you’re not using the category dropdown, so you could remove the min-height with the following CSS:
#cn-cmap { min-height: 0 !important; }I understand about the shortcode option glossary page. I am working on a secondary site for Connections, a Knowledge Base site. On plan is to have all shortcode options as one post type that can be associated to a product so it would be easy to create a glossary page with that setup. I’ll keep this in mind as I continue building the site.

ParticipantI added
<style> #cn-cmap { min-height: 0 !important; } </style>to the top of my document in the WP page editor (text mode) as I did not want to have this on my entire site and it worked like a charm.
Thank You.
BTW: Looking forward to seeing that Knowledge Base site when it is up and running.

That’ll do it.
Here’s the link to what I have done in the knowledge base so far, which is just importing the FAQs.
http://kb.connections-pro.com/.My next step will be to import the current doc pages and then migrate the forums. The goal will be to separate the sales and support sites so each can be better tailored to serve their intended purpose rather than trying to cram everything into one site.
