Whenever I activate the Advanced Access Manager plugin the Connections section completely disappears. Not sure what to do, as the Advanced Access Manager plugin is essential for our site (?).
If this has happened the likely source of the issue is that another plugin, maybe even Advanced Access Manager, has manually set its admin menu position. WordPress doesn’t seem to really handle this well because it doesn’t do any type of conflict resolution, something will just get bumped instead.
I just checked the code for Advanced Access Manager, it doesn’t set the menu position so another plugin must be. Maybe try deactivating other plugins one at a time … unfortunately this will not ID the plugin setting its menu position, rather, it’ll just open the “slot” again.
There are two other options…
You could install the Connections Toolbar Extension; it’ll add the menu structure to the admin bar.
Lastly, I do provide a way for users to manually set the menu position for Connections.
Add the following to the
define( 'CN_ADMIN_MENU_POSITION', NULL );
NULL to any of the values below:
5 – below Posts
10 – below Media
15 – below Links
20 – below Pages
25 – below comments
60 – below first separator
65 – below Plugins
70 – below Users
75 – below Tools
80 – below Settings
100 – below second separator
My suggestion would be setting it to any integer above 100.
I hope that helps. Let me know.
