I have the latest version of Connections with a CSV Import Version 2.02. For cleanup I exported all the data to a csv file. Worked great! I then updated the entries in the CSV file, deleted the entries in WP and re-imported the data.
To my surprise none of the Photo/Logo URL’s got imported, although the mapping was correct. Example URL from the csv file:
The I realized if I edit an entry I cannot even just cut&paste the URL in, I have to select a file. I now have to go through all of DB entries to fix the Photo/Logo by hand :(
Please fix the import and at the same token make the field to edit the URL cut&paste ready.
By deleting the entries, you deleted the photos/logos so they no longer exist. To update, do the export, make your changes and then import. But, make sure not to map the photo/logo fields on the mapping step.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for the quick reply. If I re-import and do not delete the entries, there is no option to skip duplicates. Or is that automatic if the ID is the same?
If the Entry ID is the same in the CSV as in the database (which it would be if exported from Connections) the entry will update instead of creating a new entry. The Entry ID column also has to be mapped during the mapping step when importing, which should occur automagically.
Hope this helps!
