ParticipantAfter installing the most recent Connections update v8.6.8 I have been experiencing issues with multiple plugins. When I deactivate Connections the other plugins function without a problem.
Below is a list of plugins that I have discovered conflicts with, There may be more but I have not tested each plugin with connections.
- User Insights: When attempting to load the user tables an “Error loading data” message is received. Console is showing a generic 500 error.
- DIVI Builder: When attempting to edit a page, the DIVI Builder times out.
- File Manager: When attempting to access the directory structure an error is received “Unable to connect to backend. HTTP error 500”
- All-In-One WP Migration: Unable to export, an error message “Unable to start the export. Refresh the page and try again” appears. After refreshing, the same error occurs.
- Ultimate Member: When trying to edit form fields, the settings for each form field do not load and the admin user is not able to make changes to form fields.

RE: After installing the most recent Connections update v8.6.8 I have been experiencing issues with multiple plugins.
Do you recall what version you upgraded from? There has not been any significant changes since the 8.6 update released in March and those changes were largely focused on working specifically with the address data when reading/displaying an entry. All the 8.6.x updates since then have been minor bugfixes and tweaks. None of the changes would cause so many conflicts.
RE: File Manager
There are two plugins with this name at wp.org with this name. I installed them both and both seem to work fine … as long as both are not activate at the same time. When both are active the one throws and error about not being able to connect. Looks like both plugins use the same library to manage files so they are conflicting with each other. Do you by chance have both installed and active?
RE: All-In-One WP Migration
I installed and activated. Didn’t configure anything, simply exported to a file. It did a 2GB backup in just a couple minutes. So that seems to work fine. Are you having trouble with exporting using a specific destination?
RE: Ultimate Member
I already have this installed on my test site so I activated it. I only have the default forms created but the setting for each field do load as they should.
RE: User Insights
Looks like this is available for purchase only so I can not test. But based on testing so far It seems like it would work fine too.
RE: DIVI Builder
I just did a custom job a couple weeks ago where the theme was Divi and used the Divi Builder and I did not notice any issues with using it. Was there something specific that timed out? I personally only have an older version of Divi so what I can test is limited.
Overall things seems to work fine with the plugin listed. Did you by chance do any other updates to other plugins or the theme at around the same time in noticing these issues? What was your testing methodology which indicated that Connections was the cause?

ParticipantI updated connections from the most recent version prior to 8.6.8. I only have the one file manager plugin installed, its Version: 4.1.6 by Author: aihimel. As for testing I did a plugin conflict test by deactivating and activating each plugin one by one to see when the problems reoccur. Everytime the issues reappeared when Connections was activated and they go away when connections is deactivated.
After your response I went and installed a copy of the site on a different host godaddy to AWS Lightsail. I was unable to replicate the issues on the lightsail instance, everything worked fine. I called godaddy and spent a lot of time with them trying to trouble shoot the problem. The checked the wpconfig and .htacces file along with the console logs. Asside from a few adjustments they made, which did not resolve the issues, the problems still persist. The console also was not showing any errors except for one, a Google page speed error when trying to load an image.
I will send you some login credentials so you can see the issues replicated. This is the production instance on godaddy.

I found the issue…
I added the ability for custom fields, text and textarea, to auto register themselves for search. The one field has the name of
Superintendent's Honored Star Case
that's
was causing an error which only revealed itself doing admin ajax requests on your site. Well, at least causing it to report a server error 500 even though the request responses were fine.I tweaked the code to handle field names with punctuation and other extended characters on your site. This tweak seems to have resolved the issues you were experiencing. Give it a go and let me know.

RE: Will this fix be in the next update?
Absolutely. I had made the change to my development code and tested it before making the same change on your site.
