ParticipantWe’re using the Connections plugin for our Home Builder’s Association website, and would like to use the Form extension to allow potential members to submit their business info. We have two types of memberships: General and Premier.
Is it possible to have a separate form for each type of membership?
We’d like to only display fieldsets pertinent to the type of membership that the person is applying for (for example, General members don’t get to display a logo, but Premier members do). The form settings appear to control this globally, and we couldn’t find anywhere to do multiple forms.
If that isn’t possible, we’d like to be able to at least add a field / fieldset to the form allowing individuals to choose “Premier” or “General,” so that we know which membership they’re interested in. From what I’ve read so far on the forums, it looks like that isn’t easy, but that is has been done with other extensions (such as Income Level). Is this the case?

re: Is it possible to have a separate form for each type of membership?
Sorry, no.
I’m assuming your users already have roles assigned to define whether they are General or Premier members, yes?
You could hook into the
cnf_shortcode_attsfilter. and change the options based on the user’s role. In pseudo code:if ( role == "premier" ) then: $atts['logo'] = true; else: $atts['logo'] = false; return $atts;Does that help?

ParticipantThanks for your reply.
The General and Premier members aren’t really roles (or maybe they should be, perhaps you can clarify that). They are two different types of memberships that users can sign up for when submitting their company’s info via the Form.
So since it isn’t possible to have more than one form, is there any way to create some sort of custom field that users can interact with in the form? I looked into custom fields for connections entries but can’t seem to figure out how to apply them globally, or have them display in a form. They appear to be extra bits of information about individual entries but not for all entries (unless of course I’m just not understanding).
Basically – I need a way to 1) let users choose their membership level desired and 2) filter those two membership levels in the connections shortcode so that they can be displayed on different pages (a general members page and a premier members page).
If you think that roles could potentially fix my issue, please let me know. I would need for users to be able to choose their role in the form, and I’d also need to be able to filter by roles as well.

Oh, ok, I understand… when you said you had two types of memberships, I assumed you were using a membership plugin which you had set up those two membership levels. Now that I understand better…
Adding a custom meta box will really be the only option since there is nothing to distinguish one user from another (often roles are used to do this).
You said you looked into custom fields but could figure out how to apply them globally… Are you talking about the custom fields metabox when you add/edit an entry in the admin? If so, that is different from a “custom field”. Confusing, I know. WordPress suffers from this too. When you add a Post, there is a custom fields metabox. This is also different from when a theme or plugin adds a “custom field” to the Post page. I hope that clears that up a little and doesn’t confuse it further!
I offer customization services, would you be interested?
