Alright. Unless you can come up with some sort of hack I’m afraid I’m going to have to find a different solution. However, thank you for looking into this.
Unfortunately, due to timing, not too useful for you but I have just made some rather significant improvements to the Connections : Manage admin page. Informal testing shows around about 300%.
I totally understand. A project needs to move forward.
I’ve continued to make other improvements. I have over 14000 entries in my test setup from real world data with several hundred categories and my page times for those pages just a couple seconds, only slightly more than the core WP admin pages. I still have a few more tweaks to implement but I’m confident I resolved the issues. So maybe next project…
Oh, I like the ACF plugin. I going to duplicate its interface but use my custom metabox and fields API for Connections that I nearly have completed.
