ParticipantHi Steven,
This is an excerpt from one of my subscribers regarding his experience that I wanted to pass on. He is an IT person and what he says here makes sense. It may be something I can change in customization though. (I hope)
- “What I didn’t expect is that prior to those changes being approved,
my Listing would not be visible at all. Based on my experience with
other websites, I figured the Listing would simply remain in its
un-updated form so that it at least it still would be visible,
without interruption, to anyone visiting the site.”
I have the settings set where the category is not visible if it is empty, however every single time he would change something in his listing, the category would disappear and his listing would not show up at all until approved “again”. This is really quite bothersome.
Is it something I have done? Or is this what it is designed to do? If so, can this be changed?
Once again, thank you for your excellent support!

ParticipantHey Steven,
I know you are tired of hearing from me but…One more thing on the category topic.
I have chosen to use the drop down category search bar and decided to us the A-Z selection as well.
I searched via alphabet and then tried to select a category from the drop down menu, it gives me “No results” and I actually have 3 listings in that category. I understand that there may not be anyone under Health & Wellness by the initial “B” however, this will be confusing to others. They will have to “know” to go to the main menu at the top of the page to get to “health & Wellness” or just think there are no listings in that category.
Should it not show all listings in the category once selected?
Thank you! You’ve been wonderful help!

No, this is functioning as designed. When the edits are made, the user is shown a message that their entry is is under moderation. Connections does not store revisions so there is no way to display an old version.

The current system is based on how WP comments are handled… they not being visible when while under moderation which is a familiar and expected behavior in WordPress.

If you need the categories to be displayed, even while empty, then you only option is to allow them to be visible when empty.

Please do not cross post / post the same question multiple times? It makes making replies much longer because I need to figure out what’s what. I’ll reply to this inn the other thread.

ParticipantOkay, I will ask him for some examples and get back to you.
Sorry for the second part, I thought because the other thread was marked “resolved” that you didn’t see my last question in that thread.
Thanks again!

Thanks! I like adding references that I can refer to when adding items to my feature request tracker.
