ParticipantGood morning Steve
I’m confused. I am using Form and Link. Using Form requires users to login first before they can fill out the form. But that goes in contradiction to what you said in the FAQs :“The entry should be in Connections prior to the user logging in. Otherwise, the user should use the “Edit My Directory Entry” admin page added by Link to add their entry. This is the intended workflow.”
I need use Form because I customized some of the fields with short codes. But, if I understand correctly, that will lead to users not linking to their entries. Am I getting this right? Is there a work around?
Thanks

If you want to use Form to collect user info, you’ll have to setup the workflow somehow so it is entered before the user is logged in. The design intent behind Form is to take “anonymous” directory submissions from site visitors, not registered users.
So, the short answer is, yes, you have it right. I know other users have come up with a work around of sorts that involved setting up the user registration process so the user entered details in Form prior to finishing the site registration so when they logged in for the first time, their Form submission would be linked to their user account. It’s creative but I’m not exactly sure how those users set it up.
I hope that helps.

ParticipantGood morning
Would you consider re-designing the workflow to where it works the “usual” way? Meaning users (in this order) sign up, login, enter a directory listing and and then be linked to it for future edits? The plugin is otherwise awesome. I would even pay extra for a redesigned work flow.
