GuestI am sure this is simple and posted out there somewhere but not found a simple answer yet. I have created a map of the United States and when you click on a state it shows dealers in that state. I have set up 50 categories in Connections, one with each state name, so what I would like is how to direct link the category. So, if they click on California, it goes to a page that has sorted out the dealers only tagged in that category of “California” I prefer not to set up 50 different pages to make this happen. Thanks!

Sure, here’s how…
1. Put the
[connections]shortcode on your desired landing page.
2. The links you need to create would look something like:http://domain.tld/landing-page/category/alabama/That assumes you have not change the
Category Baseon the Connections : Settings admin page under theAdvancedtab. That’s it.
Another interesting option which really depends on how you really need categorize your dealers. Because you can build links to filter by state like so:
http://domain.tld/landing-page/region/Alabama/The result would be every entry where any of its addresses had “Alabama” entered in the
Statefield. Make sense? You can even build links for specific cities:
http://domain.tld/landing-page/locality/Montgomery/Or zip code:
http://domain.tld/landing-page/postal-code/36101/I do suggest making your landing page your directory home page as well on the Connections : Settings admin page under the
Generaltab.I hope that answers your question thoroughly.

GuestAwesome! Thanks Steven. That was where I was going wrong. Under advanced settings I had it at “cat” instead of “category” so when I tried to access them directly it was not coming up. Thanks man, you are a time saver!

Using
catwould cause a conflict with WordPress because that is what it uses to reference its own categories. -
