ParticipantHello, I am a newbie at importing files. I have an Excel file that I have saved as a CSV file. The file is importing and I am matching fields as show in Step 2. However, instead of getting the First name, I am getting the email — all fields are scrambled. The only fields I want to import are Name, Organization, email and phone.
Can you please let me know what I am doing incorrect — or what I need to change on the file (attached)?
Thanks in advance for you suggestions to correct this problem.

ParticipantOkay, here’s an update. I changed the file headers in my csv file to match Connections and I am now able to get Organization, email, and phone number in the correct locations — however, the First Name field is still not importing.
I am using the Cmap template and I have noticed that when I go to Manage, it is set to “Organization.” I want to be able to show the organization’s logo, but also the first and last name of the person.
My list isn’t that long (70), so I could manually add the people’s names, but I’d really like to understand why I can’t get the First Names to import. Any help, suggestions? The csv file First Name field does contain a first and last name (the field looks like: Name: Bill Jones. There is no Last Name field.
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

ParticipantGot it figured out. Uploaded to plain-jane template – all came over, then switched to cMap, everything is there and correct. Resolved it myself!

Great to hear you were able to resolve it. Apologies that I was not around this weekend to assist. I usually try to answer tickets over the weekend but our family has been really sick this past week and its slowed us all down, a lot. No excuse, but it is the reason. We all on the rebound now so I will be more prompt after I get through some of my backlog.

ParticipantSteven, I hope your family is on the mend! No worries, it just took me a bit to get it figured out. I ended up importing to a regular template (that took first names) and then switched to the cMap. All is working great — I love it. Family is always more important! Thanks again. Candace
