ParticipantHiya,
Loving gridder! Question: How to override gridder files in child theme?
I would love to mod a little more then the shortcodes let me.I was able to do this fine with the default template, but gridder seems a little different?

RE: How to override gridder files in child theme?
Here’s the link to the dev doc for template override files.
RE: I was able to do this fine with the default template, but gridder seems a little different?
It does work the same, but since Gridder is more complex due to layout and styling, you might also have to edit the corresponding CSS file. When items within the grid, the default font-size is
0so white spaces that is auto applied in browsers do not break the layout, so, if you added something which is not account for in the default CSS the first thing to check is if the font-size and/or line-height are0and if they are, set them to the desired values, for that item only.Hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Steven,
Thanks for you reply.
I have tried all possible folder setups but cant get the childtheme version to show. I added some xxx in front of the first div to see if i can get it to work but it doesnt show. What is the structure and which files go into which folder in the child theme?
Does:
Childthemefolder/connections-templatess/gridder/card.php
Look right?Regards,

This should be the file/folder:
../wp-content/theme/{child-theme}/connections-templates/gridder/card.phpSo your path looks correct. You could always empty the
card.phpfile and have onlydie();into it. Then, you know without a doubt that it loaded or not.03/15/2019 at 4:14 am #487054Thomas Borkent

Participantoh and maybe you have a fast answer for me on the following:
Is it possible to have someone fill in a field or search based on their zipcode and find people nearby set by a certain distance, for instance 25 miles or so.
Maybe someone else has had this request.
As I have it set now people can search on a postcode but it needs to be exact or else no results logically are returned.

There is a beta addon for Connections which I offer, on request, to those who purchased the Pro Pack.
I freely give it as a free addon in the bundled price. The reason it is not officially part of the bundle is because I still consider it a beta product. With the release of WP5, my goal for this year is to build it as a block which can be used and configured in the new editor.
You can see it in action on this third part site:
I consider this beta software, though safe to run on live sites. It can be difficult to configure due to the complicate shortcode structure to configure the multiple category setup. If you are familiar with shortcodes it should not be too difficult. They styling is as is, though I can give you CSS to apply you own color (instead of blue).
