ParticipantHello,
I’m having trouble with the HoneyPot SPAM protection preventing users from sending email to our teachers. I found this on the support site #353205 in which you state that the HoneyPot fields cannot be filled in by the browser and must be done by a plugin or extension. This is not longer the case with Chrome. As such, users are getting blocked. The error message that pops up telling them there was a problem displays for only a brief second so that someone not looking for it would miss it and assume everything wen through correctly.According the the Google’s best practice, using the “autocomplete=off” method is deprecated (read very last entry) and any attempts to prevent auto fill or auto completion will eventually be circumvented as the user’s preference for it to work supersedes the webmaster.
Can I disable this? I do not see any method for that within the settings. I am sure I could edit the code, but would then have to remember to do this each time the plugin is updated. Thank you for your help.

KeymasterThanks for the report and the links to supporting docs.
Would you like to trial a tweaked version of Contact which should properly deal with autocomplete/autofill?

ParticipantThank you for the link. I removed the original and have installed this new version. We’ll test it over the next couple days and get back to you. I really appreciate your help on this.
