The email field, though set in default to display, is being cut off (I know because if I adjust the height of the tile, it does include it – but then if one of the other fields above it is too long, it only displays part of the email). Is there any way to minimize the space between the fields so I can see the entire email in my tile even if one of the fields above it has a string that spills into a new line?

Can you please share a link to the directory page so I can take a look?02/13/2019 at 2:34 pm #484558
Unfortunately I can’t, because we’re using the directory for a membership directory that is only accessible to approved users (members) and all their data is uploaded (unlike last time I asked a question, when I was still working with a dummy-populated one). I can make you a user if you have a way for me to send you the credentials? If I ‘set author’s post as private’ will that do it?

RE: Is there any way to minimize the space between the fields so I can see the entire email in my tile even if one of the fields above it has a string that spills into a new line?
Ok, I have not seen that in probably more than a year or so. The theme was “injecting” extra line breaks into the page contents, including the Connections templates. The sort of defect use to be very common in Themeforest themes.
Because it use to be such an issue I added a workaround in Connections. On the Connections : Settings admin page, click the Advanced tab and scroll all the way to the bottom. There you will find a Template Compatibility option. I enabled this. Basically it parses the Connections code and removes the extra line breaks. This works because I do not use line breaks in template output. So they are easy to target and remove.
RE: is there an extension that would allow me to make sub-categories? As in, if I wanted people to be able to search by…profession or city or committee, but I didn’t want to list all the professions AND cities AND committees in one drop-down menu of categories, is there anything that would allow me to separate them?
I offer an add on to Pro Pack users, on request, which offers a multiple category search.
You can see it on this live third part site:
I offer it as is in functionality and styling. It can be difficult to configure due to it having a complex shortcode to configure the multiple category search options. But it is not too bad if you are familiar with working with shortcodes.
RE: I thought I saw an extension that allows users to edit their own contact card without having a wordpress role of editor (just being an activated user) – but then I went back and scoured the extensions and could not find it again. Did I read that about another plugin and get my wires crossed?
That would be the Link addon.
And, optionally, the Form addon.
Hope this helps!02/20/2019 at 12:42 pm #485225
Thank you so much!! The tiles look great :)
We would like to have the multi-category search option, how do we become ‘Pro Pack users’?
Regarding the Link addon, looks great, thank you. Do we need to have the login extension installed first or can we go ahead and use link?
Thank you Steven!!

RE: We would like to have the multi-category search option, how do we become ‘Pro Pack users’?
You can upgrade your CSV Import purchase to the Pro Pack by navigating to your Purchase History page.
Click the License tab and then the View Upgrades Link. Click the Pro Pack Upgrade License link. This will add the bundle to the cart with a discount applied equal to the amount that your paid for the CSV Import addon.

The order does not matter they function independently of each other but work with each other if both are installed.
Hope this helps!02/20/2019 at 12:57 pm #485230
It does help, thank you Steven! It’s giving me both the ‘Extension Pro Pack’ option and the ‘Pro Pack’ option – I want the latter?
Maya02/20/2019 at 1:01 pm #485233
Because both are optional upgrade paths. Click the Upgrade License for the Pro Pack option.
