I have taken over management of a website that has a directory of members. Members are in Categories based on the State/Country they live in.
Right now, the live site is set up with the Gridder template, but we want to change it to Circled. The “issue” I’m experiencing is occurring in both templates.
The directory is currently set up with a separate shortcode for each Category. This makes the page extremely slow to load.
To see what I’m talking about, my temporary page with the Circled template is http://pacifichoofcare.net/practitionersandbox/
I did read somewhere that we cannot display the category name with just the templates, but would the Enhanced Categories Extension pack get us there? We want the directory broken up by Category, and the Category Name displayed on the page, so that visitors can scroll through the list, go to their state, and choose a member closest to them.
Please let me know what other information I can provide. I’m brand new to WordPress and to Connections, but am trying to learn as quickly as I can.

I would suggest the shortcode be placed on the page only once. The Circled template does have a category filter which can be enabled.
I suggest using this shortcode:
[connections enable_category_select='TRUE' enable_pagination='TRUE']
If you want you could use the Enhanced Categories addon instead of using the builtin category filter. But I definitely recommend enabled pagination and using the shortcode on the page only once when displaying so many entries. That will keep page load times more reasonable.
Hope this helps, let me know.
