ParticipantHi Steve. I have premium templates and stuff but this is regarding the core. I recently had to rebuild my client’s site and move it to a new server. During this process, I did export and import a couple of tables like the users table and users meta table. All of the connections data seemed to transfer on its own even though I was working with a brand new database. Not sure how but this part is awesome. But I am getting an error saying the database has to be updated. I tried that, thankfully before I launched, but when I did, all the new data that I had updated in the new development site – that was then launched, replacing the old one, was lost and it went back to the old site’s data. We are live now… What can I do? I can no longer get to the manage connections tabs.

That would be awesome… but this wasn’t done by Connections… perhaps you were still somehow connected to the old database???
re: But I am getting an error saying the database has to be updated.
That’s not an error originating from Connections. Not sure where that would come from.

Sorry, I do not have an answer for you. My best guess is you were still connected to the old database and when you restarted, the connection was made to the new database. If you did not delete the old database, you should still be able to export that data and import into into your new database.

Does Connections showup in the last of activated plugins? Does the admin menu option appear in the left admin menu options?

ParticipantYes. Attached is what I get on every page though. I will try to export and import tonight after most people have gone to bed and let you know if that helps.

ParticipantIs there a way to change our avatar / add a profile pic btw?

Oh, ok, that message. I wasn’t understanding, apparently. Clicking the button does nothing???
That said, the db update is very minor. It just adds a new column to the table that Connections saves the main entry data to.
As for editing your profile… I believe the forum uses the Gravatar image registered to your email address. Since you have the default image, my guess is you need to create a Gravatar account and register your email address with it. after you do that, you can change the image to anything you want.
