GuestThe page above has a long set of top @ 2nd level categories. Only a few yet have an entry. But Business Services:
http://northsoundbusinessnetwork.com/businesses/business-services/
has 3 valid entries, used to work, but no longer displays the entries. This might have happened without my noticing on a recent plugin and subsequent db update.
The only back end clue I can see is that Business Services is ID #1 in Categories and has no check box in front of it. Also, I get a blank page when I click Update.
I can’t View any of the 3 listings in that Category.
The page has text then the same – except for ID – shortcode as all the other pages.
I can poke around with phpMyAdmin if needed.

My first suggestion, try increasing the memory allocated to PHP.
Hope that helps, let me know.

GuestBumped to 256M in both wp-config and php.ini, no difference.
Forgot to clarify that only that one category is not displaying listings. All the others work.

GuestFound it – process of elimination. A newer listing broke the category. I turned it off and the category displays.

Were you able to identify what in that new entry causes the issue?

GuestNope, sorry. I did look thru that user id in the db, didn’t see anything that looked odd to me, then deleted it. I’ll see if it happens when the user re-does the listing.
Off hand, do you strip non-ascii, extra garbage from a Word paste, etc? He is a legitimate user, and savvy enough to handle his own entry & logo.

All fields are run through one or another of core WP sanitize functions before being inserted into the db. I would imagine Word cruft is stripped.

GuestHe said he’d had problems uploading his logo. Not sure what though. He’s added his listing again, and it’s working?!

Ok, the image being uploaded was probably too large causing the memory allocated to PHP to be exhausted. Connections does try to prevent this so it is rare that this happens.
