GuestHi Steven,
Once again seeking some assistance. I am using the advanced search that you provided some time back. I find that any search using the advanced facility presents the results on a specific page called (in my case) simple-search which is the same as some of the other serach types. Is it possible to make the adsvanced facility place the result on a specfic page unrelated to other search types where a link could take the user directly back to their search. This would keep the results isolated and allow a user to modify the advanced fields one at a time.Regards,

If I understand correctly…
Add
home_id=x force_home=false
to the advanced search shortcode.Where
x
should be the page ID of the page where the search results should be displayed. This page should have[connections]
shortcode on it. More on those options can be found on this doc page.Hope this helps!

GuestHi Steven,
Thanks for you response. I created a new page called advanced-results with the shortcode [connections enable_category_select='FALSE'] and amended the advanced search shortcode as you detailed with great success as it now displays the filtered results as required. However as search-results is a public visibility page if it is accessed directly by the url infoshield.co.uk/advanced-results it displays a paginated version all the categories. Is it possible to amend the shortcode so that results are only presented when access is from the advanced search page. Thanks for any help you can give.

Sorry, no it is not possible. Do not add the advanced search results page to the site nav or directly link to it.
Hope this helps!

GuestThanks fir your answer. prompt and accurate as usual, * think It needs to be a nofollow and i need to find a way of stopping google indexing, possibly removing from sitemap etc. ?/
Thanks Richard M

There’s no links… so, I do not think the nofollow applies. As far as indexing, but then the search engines will not index the entries if the search is the only method to get to them if the page is flag for no crawling. I that is desired, then adding the page to the robots file should be sufficient.

GuestHi Steven,
Thanks for your reply . There is another connections instance where the search engines access all the entries so perhaps it would not matter allowing indexing on the advanced search results page when accessed directly. There is another issue which you may be able to clarify. I want to have two links on the advanced-results page, one to a “new search” which should be straightforward but the second labeled “modify your search” . At first I thought a simple back button approach would work however whist this does take you back in Firefox and Chrome it does not do so in IE11 where you are just taken to the advanced search page with no entered data.Regards,

Sound like an IE issue, from a quick web search:
Hope this helps!
