Still no joy :(

Perhaps I am doing something wrong, though I do not see how. I’ve attached a screenshot showing my hosts file. I have two lines for your site because what gave was slightly different in both replies. But The results we’re the same no matter which I used. The screenshot also shows the ping going to the correct IP. The screenshot shows the Chrome network request for the page which is also resolving to the correct IP. I even tried simply using the IP address.

Presently, Connections only supported when used on WordPress pages, not CPT/s.

Now, that said, I just spent this afternoon adding the necessary rewrite rules to support CPT/s. Initial testing shows it working without any any issue.

My question… is how did you get the links to point to a CPT to begin with??? I’m guessing you found a loophole or a bug which allowed it.

FYI, the released version will have a new option under the Advanced settings tab to enable CPT support. You will also be able to define which CPT/s to enable support for. These options will affect the options available in the directory home page setting. This help, if not eliminate, the “unexpected” CPT/s from being listed.

Enabling CPT support does more than change which options are displayed in the directory home page drop down, it will also add the necessary rewrite rules in order to properly support CTP/s — I hope.

Well, technically it is possible but would require you to edit PHP files which you would have to do every time there is a Connections update. If you are up to that, then I can provide some guidance.

If you are migrating an entire site then I recommend you use a plugin like Duplicator or BackupBuddy. If you want to migrate only the Connections data, it is possible but will require a moderate amount of work.

To start, Connections should not be installed on the destination site. If you have installed it, uninstall it and then use phpMyAdmin to drop the {wpdb_prefix}connections* from the WordPress database. There are 13 of them.

First, go to the Connections Tools admin page and export the settings.

Now, login into the source site and go to the Connections Settings admin page. Disable the FULLTEXT search option

Next, log into the source site’s phpMyAdmin and export those 13 tables as a SQL file. Use the quick export or default export options. I forget what the exact terminology is.

Log into the destination site phpMyAdmin and import that SQL file.

After the import is complete, you will need to change the wpdb_prefix of the imported table to match the wpdb_prefix of the destination site.

Now, log into the source site via FTP and navigate to the ../wp-content/uploads/ folder. YOu will find a folder named connections-images. Download that entire folder.

Next log into the destination site via FTP and navigate ../wp-content/uploads/ and upload the connections-images you just downloaded.

Now you can install and activate Connections on the destination site.

Import the settings on the Connections Tools admin page.

Lastly, toggle the FULLTEXT option on the Connections Settings admin page under the Search tab. Do this by disabling it and saving the setting, then enabling it and saving the setting. This will ensure the FULLLTEXT indices are created if the db supports it.

It sounds like a lot but it actually pretty quick with most time spent on logging in and out of the various part of the two sites.

Sorry, but the Form extension is to accept submissions to the directory it does not support user registration. You’ll need to use the user registration built into WordPress press or another plugin which does user registration.

This is the correct default behavior. The default is to display the business logo in image area and the image in the bio area in the cMap template.

This is configurable by using the Template Customizer for cMap. Here’s how.

Enter the Template Customizer as explained on the doc page for cMap.

The page will reload with the Template Customizer on the left and the preview on the left.

Click the back arrow in the up left of the Customizer.

Click the Image Panel.

Change the Image Type to Photo.

Now Click the entry Name in the preview. The preview will now reload displaying the entry profile page.

Again, change the Image Type to Photo.

Now, click the Save and Publish button on the top right of the Customizer.

You can also configure cMap not to display the photo in the bio. To do that, click the back button in the upper left of the Customizer and then click the Bio Tray image.

Change the Image Type to None. Again, click the entry name in the preview and change the Bio Tray Image setting and click the Save and Publish button.

You’ll have to define “properly” Looking at the page and the image appears to be displaying fine to me.
