ParticipantHello I screwed something up and I am not sure how to get back. I did something which caused my edit my profile button to no longer to work. I have created a new user profile that will be for editors. This is the one that I want to put those people who are members who can get the edit my profile button. This was working but I mad a bunch of changes the biggest being, I pulled the site into elementor which made it more pleasing to look at. However this have created some more problems most of which I have been able to fix with the exception of this one.
What is the default role setting that I would need to make this work where the user will get the edit my profile button http://%entry_view_url%.
Thanks

Assuming this is in regards to the Link addon… I would suggest going over the Role Capabilities to make sure they are setup correctly for how you are using Connections. Here’s the link to the docs:
Now, judging from the link you supplied as an example… It looks like you are adding the the edit link to the Wp Menus. Here’s the link to the FAQ which goes over that in detail:
That said, this works only in the Wp Menus. YOu you want to add links elsewhere, then perhaps the shortcodes will meet your needs. Here’s the link to their docs:
Hope this helps! Let me know

ParticipantOK – So I am not sure if you are familiar but I have the two directories split. Associate Members and Members. The http://%entry_view_url% works on Members but will not work on associate members. Not sure if this has to do with the exclude short code or the split the directory.
Thanks

The
%entry_view_url%URL slug only works in an WordPress Menu as a Custom Link. Theexlude_categoryor splitting the directory across two pages will not have an effect on whether or not the link is created. So, if you are not getting a real and valid link, then there is another issue. Please review the setup against the doc links I shared in my last reply.
Also, perhaps you could explain in more detail on what you mean by does not work? With more details I might be able to give you an exact working solution.
