GuestHere is the error I’m getting when I try to go to the “Installed Plugins” area of the dashboard….
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in D:\Hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections\includes\admin\class.license-status.php on line 284
Not sure if this is where I should be posting as I have purchased both a premium template AND the extension pack and I’m not sure WHICH of the extensions is causing the issue.
I need to manually update WP to the most recent version, but I want to deactivate all the plugins before I do it and I can’t get there to do it. Please help I need this up and running by Wednesday.

First question… how did you install such a recent version of Connections on such an older version of WP? WP should have prevented that.
Try this… Navigate to the WordPress Updates admin page. You’ll find this under the icon in the top left which looks like a gage. An update for Connections should be shown, assuming WP is not blocking it like it should. Upgrade Connections.
After you upgrade Connections, it should no longer load due to it not meeting the minimum requirements. This safety net was added in one of the more recent updates.
If you unable to update Connection… Log into your web hosts control panel and access the file manager. Navigate to the
../wp-content/folder. Rename thepluginsfolder toplugins-deactivated. No plugins will be loaded because WP will not be able to find them. Navigate to the Plugins admin page. WP should report that the plugins have been deactivated. After that, you can rename the folder back toplugins.Hope this helps, let me know.

ParticipantFirst, my apologies…
I sent an email via the contact form just now and then noticed the message about not posting support questions there. AND I didn’t see your response here… I thought I would get an email notifying me there was a response :( So I’m just now seeing this after sending a “NEED HELP DESPARATELY” email :/
So, here’s where I am and I’m way behind schedule and I have a boatload of people waiting for their listing to be published…
After completely deleting connections via FTP, I was able to log in to my dashboard and deactivate all the other plug-ins and then manually update to the most recent version of wordpress.
Then, I installed the most recent version of Connections and now I’m getting warnings…
Here is a link to the screenshot of the error I’m getting.
and here is the error text…
Warning: include_once(D:\Hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections/vendor/wp-rest-api/inc.wp-rest-functions.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections\includes\api\class.api.php on line 60
Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘D:\Hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections/vendor/wp-rest-api/inc.wp-rest-functions.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.;C:\php\pear’) in D:\Hosting\4073379\html\wp-content\plugins\connections\includes\api\class.api.php on line 60
I also changed to a different theme momentarily to see if there was a theme conflict… got the same messages with Twenty Seventeen and Twenty Sixteen.
I MUST have this done by Saturday the 30th :/
Please help…… thank you in advance for your uber prompt reply….

That seems to indicate that WordPress did not fully install Connections. The only real solution is to deactivate and delete Connections and try installing it again. If WP fails to do that, use your web host’s file manage in their control panel to delete the following folder:
../wp-content/plugins/connections/If WP fails to install fully again, download the install zip from wp.org. Unzip it on your desktop and use FTP to copy to the
../wp-content/plugins/connections/folder.Now, if WP is having trouble installing, the source of the issue is likely the resources allocated to PHP. I would suggest following these tutorials:
I would also check to make sure your site is not “full”. Many web host do limit the file storage limit you are permitted to use.
Lastly, I would check the PHP version use to run your site. I highly recommend PHP version 7.1. It runs WP much faster while being far more resource efficient. Many web hosts allow you to choose the PHP version to run in their control panel.
I hope this helps, let me know.
