ParticipantAfter updating to 8.6.12 am no longer able to see entries on backend when selecting ‘Show All Categories’.
In order to see the entries I found that I could get there only by first selecting ‘Categories’. from the left hand side bar of menu items.
Then once at a specific ‘category page’ – go to a ‘category’ – click on the #number under ‘count’ at a specific ‘category.
Then the page with all the respective entries for that ‘category ‘ will load and I am able to edit any of the individual entries.
What do you need from me to help you be able to determine the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to say. Which version did you upgrade from? All the recent releases have been somewhat minor in nature. If you can give me an admin login, I can take a look. Details can be posted here as a private reply.

Did you correct the issue? I’ve logged in and have no trouble viewing all categories. Try logging into the account you made for me if you are still experiencing the issue. Maybe it is somehow just your account?

ParticipantSteven ..
OMG — I tried logging in with the account I made for you — and you are correct —- everything works as it should with the new logon —
Then went back and relogged in as myself with the old account I have used for a long while and problem cropped up again, just as I had originally described.
This seems very weird for sure.
After getting your message I wondered if maybe it was something to do with a bad cookie issue, and I dumped the cookies and tried my logon and it made no difference.
Super weird for sure —- I appreciate you taking a look , with a fresh set of eyes.
Wow, this issue is a first for me to see a problem crop up that is user logon specific —- maybe I need to create new logon credentials for myself and scrap the old logon —
Again thank you — you helped identify the culprit for sure!
Thanks.

What odd here is Connections should not really care about the user login for an admin. If you install the User Switching plugin, I can log back in and switch to your account so I can see and perhaps correct the issue.

ParticipantSteven ..
after sending you the private message I was on site backend and looking around —
and unless you logged on after I sent the message and installed that User Switching plugin under your credentials —– well, unless you did, it does appear that the User Switching plugin is installed — even though the error messages cropped up that I sent to you happened , when I had tried to do it.In any event the User switching plugin seems to be on the site now.

if you can’t determine what is happening with this issue — would you suggest that i should export all the connections data in a csv file and then delete completely the connections plugin — and then after deleting the connections plugin, reload it fresh and import the csv file of data?
Or would this have any chance of clearing up things do you think?
Seems like a weird issue for sure.

RE: it threw up this error message when I tried to install it
Try as I might, I was not able to replicate, on you site or mine :(
RE: well, unless you did, it does appear that the User Switching plugin is installed
Nope, I did not install. The error must have occurred after User Switching was already activated. Which would make sense because that part of the Connections code only runs when doing plugin update checks on the Plugins admin page.
RE: would you suggest that i should export all the connections data in a csv file and then delete completely the connections plugin — and then after deleting the connections plugin, reload it fresh and import the csv file of data?
No, definitely not. I did log back in this morning and switched accounts between all admins and I was not able to replicate the issue. I was always able to filter by all categories.
Try visiting the page with your account with a private browser window. Does that fix it?
