    Hello! I have three pre-sales questions:

    I have installed the free downloadable plugin, and done some basic
    setup. I see the entries, and the alphabet bar at the top. But, I
    see no search capability at all. I assume there is a search
    capability, so how do I turn it on?

    My ongoing quest in the directory world is to have a directory that displays all the entries in a table, with a small number of
    columns showing in the table (org name, type, city), and the org
    title being the link to the full record. Search results would return
    in that same table, so that persons could see the results before
    clicking through to the full record. Can Connections do that?

    I see this is a “pre-sales” forum. Is there an advanced version of the plugin for sale, or is the purchase only for extensions?

    Search is enabled in all of the premium templates.

    This is doable but would require a custom template with the exact layout that you want to have.

    The core Connections plugin is free, there is no advanced or “pro” version. Its addon for the core plugin are for sale which add features to the core plugin. There’s also a bunch of free addons too.

    Thank you for responding so quickly! Yes, those questions have been answered, and I have purchased some of the premium add-ons.

    So, I have two more, and then I’m done, at least for now. :-)

    1. In regard to the custom template question: is there documentation on building such a template? Coding doesn’t bother me, if it’s not going to be a huge slog. Right now I’m using the Tile template, which is pretty good, but I still would like to have the user experience I described.
    2. Is it possible to have filters on any fields other than category? I would like the users to be able to filter both category and, say, region, so they can find (in my case) grassroots groups in their congressional district.

    Sorry, no, their is no documentation on building a template but if you review the code for the Tile Plus template I think you will be able to figure it out fairly easily if your know PHP. I recommend phpStorm, loading Connections and WP as libraries for code completion.

    If you like the template and just want to tweak it, then template override files might be the best solution. You can also load custom CSS files. Both are update safe.

    Yes, I do have an advanced search addon available to those who purchase either the pro pack or extension pro pack and request it. It’s not generally available due to it being a little complex to setup, so I do offer setup as a service. If you know shortcode well, it is really not that difficult. I can provide it and instruction if you purchase one of these those bundles.

    I purchased the Extension Pro Pack, so I would like to also purchase the advanced search addon. I’m fairly sure I can figure out the setup; if I run into any issues I’ll ask.

    Also, I’m going to look at the code for some of the templates and see if I can create the view I’m looking for. If you offer custom template creation, though, I might be willing to just pay for it.
