ParticipantI specifically purchased the cMap template because it said one of the features is Keyword Search.
Yet when I type in a specific keyword which I know is within the database, I get 0 results.
Just in case, I even installed Code Snippets plugin and added the code you provided via https://connections-pro.com/2015/04/23/quicktip-override-category-shortcode-option-during-a-keyword-search/ and that doesn’t help me either.
Site in question is https://rebuildingnapacounty.com and I need this working properly as soon as possible to help fire victims in 4 surrounding counties due to this week’s fires.
Please help, thank you.

RE: when I type in a specific keyword which I know is within the database, I get 0 results
I did do a few tests and search does appear to work…
Search for
664899Results:https://rebuildingnapacounty.com/find-companies/?cn-s=664899&cn-cat=
Search for
COMMUNICATIONSResults:https://rebuildingnapacounty.com/find-companies/?cn-s=COMMUNICATIONS&cn-cat=
Search for
YantResults:https://rebuildingnapacounty.com/find-companies/?cn-s=Yant&cn-cat=
What specific keyword and in which field does that keyword exist?

ParticipantThank you for the quick reply, I really appreciate that.
Looks like I gave you the wrong link, although the Keyword Search doesn’t work here either: http://ncbeonline.com/search-ncbe-members/
I’m actually using your Connections plugin on 5 websites right now. As soon as I can fix this KWS issue I can purchase the other templates and extensions for the other 4 sites.
For the above link, if you search for Data you get no results. Even though the very first listing A A & T COMMUNICATIONS, INC. shows Data under License Type.

Datais not part of the entry content… it is part of a name of the categoryCommunications / DataTo search by category, click “Select Category” and type
Data. After you do,you will see thatCommunications / Datais auto suggested. And, if you click that auto suggestion the search is applied and AT&T is return as one of the results:http://ncbeonline.com/search-ncbe-members/?cn-s=&cn-cat=194
So everything does appear to be functioning correctly.
Hope this helps!

ParticipantHey Steven.
Thank you for your help here, but I’m probably not asking my question correctly.
My goal here is to have someone go to the directory page at http://ncbeonline.com/search-ncbe-members/ and type in a keyword to help them find a contractor.
No matter where the keyword is within the directory, if it’s in the directory (under category or notes or business name or part of the business name or any other aspect within the entire directory) I need the listings with that keyword to come up.
An example is searching for the word Data, which is within the directory, specifically under the A A & T COMMUNICATIONS, INC. listing (see attached). No matter where that word ‘data’ is located within the directory, it’s in the directory. So, I need it to come up when someone searches for data.
Like when you go to Google, you type in a keyword and where ever that keyword is found within Google, it still comes up.
Let me know if I’m not making sense. Thanks again for your support.

No, I understand exactly what you are asking.
Datais part of a category name. category names are not searched by the keyword search. The fields which are search can be found on the Connections : Settings admin page under the search tab. If you wish to search for categories or part of category name, click the category drop down and start typing data, it will returnCommunications / Dataas a matching category which the list can be filtered by.I do have two snippets which do alter search results. One for to add to the results when matches are found in the category description. The second for adding entries to the results based on exact category name match (not partial matching). Neither would do xactly as you want but the second is close and the first could be used to get exact what you want by adding the category name to the category description. Would that work? If it does, here’s a link to the instruction I gave to another user.
Hope that helps!
