Looks like umlauts are being found correctly. Here’s a link to a search on your site for

The problem could be the database engine used on the site. Can I have an admin login so I can have a closer look?

GuestDear Steven,
I imported the adresses per csv and because of the umlauts haven’t been showed, I used ü. The adresses were visibel, but the surch doesn’t find the umlaut-content.
The ü I chaged now, but with correct umlauts, the content would not be loaded (see A. Nitsche).
I’ll send you an admin login with separate mail.
Thank you for help

Ot can be posted here as a private reply or sent using the contact link at the very bottom of the page.
RE: Maybe there is something wrong?
Wrong? I what context? When you import a CSV what exactly is happening? Are umlauts stripped? The entries not imported? More details please as I’m not sure how this relates to search.

Guest“A. Nitsche”? Or where should it be? Can you add it?
That’s the problem: When I upload the csv-Data with umlauts, the umlauts doesn’t appears.
I’ve uplaoded the csv then with the html-Code “& u uml ;”. So the umlauts were shown, but they couldn’t be find by the searchfunktion. The real data of “A. Nitsche” ist:
A. Nitsche Altranstädterstr. 44 alle, Deutschland Deutschland 4229 Leipzig http://www.nitsche-modellbahn.de
But it would not be imported.I’ve send you the login per contact-email.
Thank you for help

RE: I’ve uplaoded the csv then with the html-Code “& u uml ;”. So the umlauts were shown
That is the problem. Those will never be found imported like that because it is now saved in the database with the HTML entity instead of the actual correct character. You need to import with the correct character.
If those characters were not being imported then it is likely the CSV file was not properly UTF8 encoded.
The only way to correct this now is to edit each entry and correct the name using the character and not the HTML entity for umlauts.
Hope this helps, let me know.
