ParticipantHi!
I was put in charge of manging the webpage of a small network without prior knowdledge of programming (since the webpage was already created). That being said, a few problems presented to me regarding the way the template is displayed.
Recently, the connection plugin was updated and after that the directory´s page stopped showing correctly. I figured it was because the cMap template license expired and it couldn´t be updated, so we renew the license, but still it couldnt be updated. I deactivated the cMap plugin, erase it and reinstalled it. It work! But the interface is different than before and the custom fields are not displayed. How can I fix this?

How is is different? Is it possible the person prior to you customized the template? If they did, likely they did it in a way that those changes were lost when you delete it. Hard to know, I would need to be provided with more details.

Instead of showing all the info filled in connections, it used to appear only the name and country of the organization as well as a seal wich was uploded from the wp media as a custom field.

No one in the office seems to know who might have edited the template but I believe that´s the problem. Either way, is there a way I can customize the template and enable custom fields to be displayed?

It does sound like the template may have been customized. Hard to say. Perhaps you have a screenshot of how it appeared before updating?
Do you happen to have a somewhat recent backup of your site? If you personally (or your team) do not, your host will likely have a few (but likely they will only be recent backups). You could ask them for a file dump of that backup so you can restore just the template files.
Can you share a link to the directory page please?
re: is there a way I can customize the template and enable custom fields to be displayed?
Sure, the same way as before, this has not changed. I can not really give any specific advice since I do not know the changes that were made. But, here’s a link to the tutorial on how to add a custom text field. My best guess they had to use that as a base for the changes. Since the changes were lost after an update, I’m guessing they did not use custom template override files. This allows you to make changes to the template in an update safe way (at least if there are no breaking changes in the core Connections plugin).
I hope this is of some help!
