ParticipantHi! I’ve set up a “Meet the Team” page for our website. When I click on “View Profile”, it basically replicates all of the other text on that page and tucks the profile in between.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Well, it is not broken… at one point I did have the page content “cleared” for the lack of a better term but this broke pages which use shortcodes for page structure, like Visual Page Builder plugins. The only thing I can do is try to render only the first
[connections]shortcode on the page which is why most of the view profile links end up with no results. You can use the setup you have, but you’ll need a second page. Create a second page, name it “Person”. The name is no really that important but it should be relevant for SEO friendly permalinks. Take note of the page ID WP give it. You find this in the browser’s address bar after you publish the page.
On this new page add the
[connections]shortcode, nothing else with no options. Now, on your existing page add the home_id shortcode option to all the existing shortcodes. Set the value o the page ID of the new page you just created.
After you have done this and saved the page, all the profile links will not resolve to the new page with nothing but the
[connections]shortcode on it so the only thing you will see is the entry.Hope that helps!

ParticipantYep, didn’t mean to imply it was broken; just that it wasn’t working in the way that I needed it to.
This sounds like the fix I need; however I’m struggling to find the Page ID you reference. Do you mean the slug?

ParticipantRelated question–is there a similar way to redirect the “Go Back to Directory” link back to the original page?

Yes, add the
home_idshortcode option to the new page, but set it to the existing page ID.01/24/2017 at 10:05 am #408153Rachel Kamstra
ParticipantPerfect. Thank you so much!
