ParticipantHi,
is there a good solution to automatically link the entries in Connections when writing a post? Like you have Microsoft as a company in there and once you write “Microsoft” in the post you get the option to link it?

Sorry, no, there is not a way to automagically add backlinks to the directory. There really is not a way to do this automagically and not be very resource intensive. It probably would be too bad to do a word by word search to find matches based on name when doing a post save. The really issue would be multiple word names. Ideally directory backlinks would be tagged somehow so they could be easily parsed from the page content. But, if you’re tagging something, at that point it is probably just best to manually add the link like any other link.

ParticipantI understand, but maybe you can at least add a tool for the editor or so, to more easily put them in.

Can you give me some idea how you would envision how such a tool would function? I really appreciate any feedback you have time to give.

ParticipantSteven,
I think it could be as simple as such a plugin.

I took a look at the plugin you linked to as an example. Seems like that would actually require more work than adding a normal link. Since you need to define a list of keywords and their links.
Giving this more thought it would be possible to query a list of names from the directory and then search the post content for those names and then add links doing this on a post save event. As long as the directory has a max of a couple hundred entries that should work just fine scaling beyond that would require some form of background processing of a post. That too is doable but much more complicated to develop. I’ve added this to my list of ideas for extensions.
