ParticipantHello, I just noticed that my submissions are automatically showing up on the directory without first going into the moderation folder. How can this be fixed. Also, I have not been receiving emails notifying me of new submissions – I noticed this last week. Please advise.

I just submitted an entry and it does appear to have landed in the mod queue as it should. Can you please confirm? So far, seems to be work fine.

ParticipantYes, it worked. ;) I also had someone submit about a half hour prior and it worked too. It must have been a fluke. I did deactivate and activate it so maybe that fixed it. However, I am not receiving an email that a new submission was received – can you advise.

Good to hear!
re: I did deactivate and activate it so maybe that fixed it.
That would have no effect on the submission routing.
re: It must have been a fluke.
Where the other submissions from registered users on your site? If they were registered users and they were logged in and the role capabilities allow them to submit without moderation was setup, them it is possible to have some submission not route to the mod queue.
re: However, I am not receiving an email that a new submission was received
Connections simply uses WordPress to send email, so, if you are not receiving email then the chances are WordPress is not able to send email.
To see the Connections email logs navigate to the Connections : Tools admin page under the Logs tab.
If you see the logs say the email has failed, then there is a server config issue.
If it says success, then as far as WordPress is concerned it is sent. Many things can cause the email not to be sent or received starting from an incorrectly configured to server to the email simply ending up in your spam/junk folder.
One way to quick test to see if WordPress can send email is to navigate to the Connections Tools admin page and click the System Info and send yourself an email. After you do, check the email logs to see if it failed or not. If it is successful but you do not receive it then the source of the issue is very likely not Connections.
If you find that WordPress report success but you do not receive them, I suggest using the Postman plugin. Install, but do not configure it. On the settings page you can send yourself a test email, do a connectivity test and view your email log (email sent after activating Postman). If you find that you do not receive the Postman text email, you will very likely need to set up Postman to send email via SMTP.
Hope that helps!
