GuestCan this be done?
The customer never updated either WP or any plugins. Ugg. They have a -ton- of data in the live site (southernmostillinois.com) Not sure if they were premium customer for you but if not they will be because we really need this data to get moved rather than rekeying all of it.Ideas?
Thank you very much for an excellent business directory plugin.

re: Can this be done?
Yes, with the plugin active, click the update now link on the plugins admin page. There’s only been minor db schema changes so there should not be an issue with updating.

GuestThank you for the prompt reply.
My only concern here is that WP itself has not been updated as well AND it is a live site so if anything breaks….
Maybe I could setup a 3.5 WP install on my server, clone the database, update the plugin and then extract the data using the built in export?
I really appreciate the help – this directory is an important core feature to the new site as much as the live site. If I break it, they’ll have my head :)

re: My only concern here is that WP itself has not been updated
Valid concern. Connections requires WP 4.2. So updating Connections without first updating WP would be bad because Connections uses functions in WP 4.2 that did not exist in WP 3.5.
You should not update Connections until WP is brought up to date. iF you are not permitted to bring WP up to date, you should leave Connections on the version that is presently installed.
Sorry that I have no better answer for you.

GuestSteven –
Thank you again for the insight and the suggestions. I was in fact able to get everything moved over by building out a dummy 3.5 site with the 0.7 Connections plugin, I then manually upgraded WP to the latest and the Connections plugin to the latest as well. For some reason, the tables are named differently in the SQL backend (WPNF_ predicate not WP_ ??)so for that little problem I literally just scraped out the SQL from the old site and dropped it into the new one, renaming the tables to what Connections was looking for. It all works BUT (isn’t there always a ‘but’?) I have one remaining issue: the images are all located in individual subfolders under the /uploads/connection_images rather than just all being in the main folder. For example, say I have an image named ‘image1.jpg’, the path would be …/uploads/connection_images/image1/image1.jpg I am at a loss to figure out how to correct this simply. I was hoping there was something in the database or the PHP that I could modify but ??? You are the expert here dude :)
I would be glad to have you login to the development site and take a look if you would like.
Thank you very much Steven and I have advised the client to buy the premium plugin as you have been very forthcoming with assistance.
