ParticipantDespite fixing my directory and renewing my license, I’m still unable to add new entries. I keep getting “error: entry could not be added”
Any insight?

Yes. You need to update Connections to 8.5.6 or newer (I just released 8.5.7) to be compatible with WordPress 4.4. But like I said in my previous reply it is concerning it says “Connections (AppleBrides version)“. This indicates that someone altered the Connections plugin. There is no way of knowing what changes were made and will the effect will be if you update.

ParticipantIt says I’m running 8.5.7 already? It has been altered, I spoke with the original owner, but I’m still unsure of how to update when it says everything is already up to date.

I do not see how, I only released this version a couple hours ago. That may not matter because if the plugin was altered when WordPress checks for an update it may not recognize it as the Connections plugin anymore and will not offer to update it. And, not knowing the changes that were made, updating it might not be a good idea because your site may require whatever changes were made. Maybe the original owner can let you know if it would be safe or not to switch back to the real Connections plugin. If it is, you could delete it and reinstall it. Backup first if you do so if you run into trouble you can roll back.
