ParticipantWe use Gridder to display our faculty in departments at the university, but when we click through on the details page for one faculty member (which works fine) and then click the “faculty” link again on the menu at the left, it keeps us on the individual faculty member’s page…seemingly like Connections is re-writing the request.
Please see the video here for a visual description of what is happening: http://droplr.ubishops.ca/13HAD
Thanks,

Yeah, I see the issue. You are using this plugin, right?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bu-navigation/
Connections includes code that deals with how WP creates permalinks for page, but if a plugin rolls their own code to output page links rather than relying on itnal WP functions, then the filter that mods the permalink will not be removed in the menus like it should be. After you confirm that you are using this plugin, I’ll dig into its code to see if there is a hook in it that I can add to remove the permalink filter like I do with the core WP menus.

ParticipantHmmmm…no not using this plugin. That I can see, I don’t think we’re using any plugin that writes/rewrites page permalinks.

No page related plugin at all? I narrowed in on that plugin specifically because the page source matched the output of that specific plugin. Maybe the theme is incorporating that plugin. What do you use to create the menu links?

ParticipantHello Steven,
This is a list of plugins we use or have installed that are about navigation or links. Not sure if any of these could be the problem:
WPML Sticky Links,
WPML CMS Nav,
Velvet Blues Update URLs,
Shortn.It,
Safe Redirect Manager,
Page Links To.Cheers,

Is the WPML CMS Nav plugin you are using to add the side navigation to the sidebar and breadcrumbs? Looking at the page source it does not appear that it is. Can I get a copy of the theme?
