If you are using cMap, you can use the exclude_category shortcode option. Or you could use the category shortcode option. Which you would use really depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

The Custom Category Order extension allows you to define a custom order.

i tried to use that shortcode and something got msessed up..

i reverted the exclude category to the previous state and it still
renders broken.Could you please tell me how to revert that?

YOu might want to take a moment to read this. It’ll help when you work with shortcodes.
To fix the issue you are seeing…
Edit the page, switch the post editor to the Text tab.
Delete any
codeand/orpretags in and around the shortcode. You should take the opportunity to remove any other HTML tags that might be in the shortcode too. HTML tags break the WordPress shortcode parser.Hope that helps!
