ParticipantI updated Connections cMap and then the error message (below) is showing above my header. http://bwme.org/
What do I need to do to fix this?
Debra

Sounds like you have an older version of Connections installed. cMap 5.0 requires Connections 8.4 or newer. I recommend updating to the latest version 8.4.4.
Hope that helps!

GuestHi Steven,
I downloaded the latest Connections but WordPress Plugins would not let update. Installation failed.
Now I can’t login to the site. see error messages below
Do I need to delete the previous version before updating? I worry I will lose all my clients data and membership directory set up. http://bwme.org/join/member-profiles/
Can you advise?
Debra

re: I downloaded the latest Connections but WordPress Plugins would not let update. Installation failed.
How did it fail… what were the error messages? Or was “Installation failed.” the error message?
re: Do I need to delete the previous version before updating?
No, this should not be necessary.
re: Now I can’t login to the site
Since you can not login into the WordPress admin your only option is to login in to your site via FTP. You’ll have to ask your web host if you do not know how to.
After you log into the site with FTP, navigate to this folder:
../wp-content/plugins/The
connectionsfolder will be in the../wp-content/plugins/folder.Delete the
connectionsfolder. Be very careful and make sure to delete only this folder or you could delete stuff you really do not want to delete. You data is safe, it will not be deleted by deleting this folder.
No you should be able to log into your WordPress admin.
You can now install Connections again and everything should be fine.
Hope that helps, let me know.

Great to hear! Just for future reference… It is always a good idea to update Connections before you update any of its template and extensions because they might depend on new features and code in the core Connections plugin.
