GuestI just installed all of my plugin updates and had to fix many of the changes; however, I am still having a problem with the search button working properly. When I start typing into the search box, what I am typing disappears before I can press the search button. In addition, if I just type 1 letter and don’t do anything else, the letter disappears as soon as I stop typing. The site password is: [REDACTED] (please don’t publish this part) Here is my code: [REDACTED]

Edit the page where the
[connections]shortcode was inserted. Switch the post editor from the Visual tab to the Tab. Remove all the HTML from around and within the shortcode … especially that anchor tag (link). That should fix the issue.
Quick question … why edit the file when you can use the shortcode options instead? You would have to worry about having to make the edits on updates that way. Here’s the link to the doc page for Slim Plus:
http://connections-pro.com/documentation/template-doc/slim-plus-shortcode-options/
Hope that helps! Let me know.

GuestThanks for the info. I did not have any html when I switched the tab from visual to tab view. I have made all of my changes on: connections-slim-plus/slim-plus.php. For some reason after I made the update yesterday, I had to redo everything that I had changed previously. Normally you are correct that updates should not wipe out anything that I have done in the past. Are there any other changes to the code that need to be done. I believe I sent you the entire php code yesterday. Please let me know. Thank you.

Ok, digging deeper in the page source… the Chrome dev tools were a little misleading on where the anchor tag was actually being opened and not closed… it appears the anchor (link) tag is actually being opened in a text widget. It appears to be the one added for the login image. The anchor is opened, but not being closed. That is creating a malformed page.
You should use the shortcode option to make the changes that you’ve made to the PHP file, you should not edit the PHP file as that will always be overwritten in an update.
Hope that helps.

GuestTurning off the other plugin fixed the issue; however, they were both working together before the update. I will see if another plugin works together or may remove the search button for the time being. Unless you have another suggestion.

I took another look at the page… you really do have some malformed HTML in that Text Widget that contains the two images and links…
