GuestHello! I’m using cMap 4.0 at http://www.siouxlandhba.com/members/ and I’m way happy with it! But of course there are always glitches…
My customer has requested that we NOT show any entries until after a user has completed a search. He’s worried that the end user will favor the first entry they see over those entries lower down in the list. I created a “null” category – a category that should show no results (ZZTop because, well, beer) – and implemented the shortcode [connections show_category='ZZTop']. My problem is that the page still shows all the entries. Most likely because I have little or no grasp on how shortcodes work… Is there a way I can set things up so the site users don’t see any entries or results until they implement a search?
My customer has also requested that instead of the categories being listed in a drop-down menu they be listed in simple link form. Is that possible?
Any help would be appreciated!

Keymaster@ Chris
Initial results can be suppressed, please see my responce to another user here and make sure you applu the fix mentioned in this reply.
The Widget Pack has a category widget that can be placed in the theme’s sidebar. You can use a plugin like Widget Logic to limit the display only to the directory page if needed. Also, check out this user’s solution using the widget.
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference. Many thanks in advance!
