ParticipantHi Stephen
Sorry to take up your time here. I know I have used you for a lot of advice lately :)
Please can you tell me which file on the back end I can edit to change colours of the directory?
When I change this one nothing happens so I it’s obviously the wrong one?
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/connections-cmap/cmap.css
Thanks so much for your help! I will be giving your a review shortly
Regards

ParticipantHi there
I have since created a cmap-custom.css file and uploaded it to the relevant folder to avoid issues with updates. Thanks for those tips on your site. I have also been able to make several changes to it.
I am really battling to change the background of each listing. I have managed to remove the gradient by deleting all the code for that but I doubt that is the correct way to do it. I am trying to change the background colour. Currently it is grey #D3D3D3. I want it to be plain black with no gradient.
Here is a screen shot of how i would like it to look attached. Are you able to assist me in reaching this goal?
I hope i am not asking too much here.
Thanks so much

Changing the background for cMap can be quite difficult because the CSS that creates it is quite complex. With that said, I did build a couple shortcode options into cMap to make this very easy. See this doc page on how to adjust the background.
So, to match your screenshot, this should do the trick:
[connections background_color="black" background_gradient='FALSE']Hope that helps!

ParticipantBrilliant!!!! thank you! How so I make the text white instead of grey though? ie: where it says “website”. I there a shortcode for that too? :)
Thank you!!!

That is a bit more tricky… only because that is inherited from the theme, so that makes it hard to give the exact CSS that is required. This may work:
#cn-cmap .cn-entry { color: white; }Hope that helps!

ParticipantI purchased Connections with CMap. I’m using the Profile template, Form, ROT13, Link, CSV importer. The works. I want to launch the Directory within the week.
I just want to customize the various labels.
I dont know where the CSS for Connections is located or where to go to edit the various str_ entries.. How do I find these files? I have looked in the plugin editor section, my control panel.
Please help!!!07/06/2014 at 9:10 am #296165Steven Zahm

The CSS for Connections would be found in this folder:
../wp-content/plugins/connections/assets/css/However, I do not recommend making any edit to those files as you will lose any changes during an update. See this QuickTip on how to add a custom CSS file that Connections will load and be update safe.
The str_***** are shortcode options, there’s no files to edit. See this FAQ on how to use them. The entire list available to cMap can be found on this page.
Hope that helps!
