ParticipantI am having trouble with the drop down category list on my phone.
When I click on a new category, the category changes, but there is no hover effect at all. The blue background stays blue for the current page- not the page that I am tapping. It works fine on my computer. How can I fix that?
My site is: http://192.185.3.28/~abicco/
Thank you,

I just tried on my iDevice and my Android phone … seems to be working as expected. What are you using to test.

GuestI’m using my iPhone.

GuestSo, on your iPhone, when you tap on a category, the category background turns blue?
My phone is iPhone 4s and the background doesn’t turn blue when I tap on it. That’s weird.
I’ll ask some of my friends to try it on their phones – I can’t imagine it would just be on my phone???? I don’t know.03/04/2014 at 5:36 pm #281539Steven Zahm

Is the correct category highlighted after the page refreshes to the category that was clicked? It does for me. I tested again on Andriod Kitkat and my iPad using Safari, latest iOS.
You are not talking about the mouse hover when you are one a desktop are you? You will not see a mouse hover when using a mobile device.

GuestYes, I was talking about the hover when a category is tapped on my iPhone. The blue background should move as you move you finger over the different categories. It doesn’t.
Like when I touch another menu item on my phone, you can see the hover effect.03/05/2014 at 4:53 pm #281613Steven Zahm

I don’t recall ever seeing mouse hover like effects on a mobile device. I’d be interested in seeing this in action; if you could point me to a site that does have this type of visual feedback back for a drop down on a mobile device. A third party library is used to enhance the drop down so it does not support the visual effect, it likely will not be added.

ParticipantHi Steven,
If you look at the example on your website for Pawtography- when you click on the categories, a menu pops up and the current category is bold. As you scroll through or tap another category- it too is highlighted by becoming bold. The same thing with UK Beauty Salons (an example on your site). That’s what I mean by the category being highlighted when tapped.

I loaded both your site and Pawtographer and I fail to see how they are working any differently. The UK Beauty Salons, I could find where they are using the template with the drop down. If I recall correctly, they have it disabled on their site because they’re using the Connections entries more like a featured salon; the non-featured are just text on the page, they’re not even in Connections.
