ParticipantHi!
It seems Connections has dissapeared from the site.
We also have Connections Widgets installed and we get this error on the dashboard:
“ERROR: Connections must be installed and active in order to use its widgets.”We have no idea if we have done something to remove the Connection plugin but we think not. We have tried to install the plugin again but get the error “The folder already exist” and the installation fails.
If we remove the folder and reinstall – will any databases created, categories etc, still be there or is the database truncated/deleted?Any idea what we can look for? The Connection plugin is not to be found in the list of plugins.
Sincerely,

This sounds like a failed WP update of the plugin correctly. That happens from time wo time with WordPress… Yes, login into your site with FTP and delete the
connectionsfolder from within thepluginsfolder and then reinstall Connections. Deleting the folder will not delete the data. That is safe in the database.Hope that helps.

ParticipantI have a similar problem. I uploaded the Pro pack, so there are 16 Connections plugins listed on our site, but nowhere can we see the Connections tab in the site admin.
We receive this notice on the plugins page:
NOTICE: The Connections directory home page has not been set. Please set it now on the Connections : Settings page under the General tab.And when we click on settings for the main Connections plugin, we receive this error:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.
(This error is on this page: http://alexapprise.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connections_settings).I would have posted this in a new forum, but couldn’t find how to create my own thread.

Please see this post on the WP Support Forums. That should solve the issue. If it does not, please let me know.

ParticipantYes. I can view the Connections section in the admin now. Thank you!

Great to hear that fixed it.
If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really make a difference. Many thanks in advance!
